After reading this book the reviewer felt sad. James Young is one of the greatest gynecologists in the world but one cannot gather this impression from the fifth edition of his textbook of gynecology.

In their advertisement the publishers particularly emphasize the section devoted to the recent. For undergraduate students there is no ideal book on obstetrics.
